Carter Maysilles (baritone) is a barbershop brat from Lapeer, Michigan who has had music as a huge part of her life growing up – starting with her mother. In fact, she sang in her first quartet (well, it was her mom’s quartet) at the age of three! Growing up, Carter took piano lessons and in high school, Carter sat as 1st chair trombone. During her college years at Western Michigan University, Carter was a member of Gold Company, an award-winning collegiate vocal jazz ensemble. She spent her summers singing at Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky, Ohio. After graduation, Carter packed her bags for Walt Disney World in Florida, where she sang with Voices of Liberty at EPCOT for six years. Today, Carter works for Sumter Electric Co-op in the corporate communications department, where she wears several hats - anything from photographer/videographer to graphic designer to webmaster. She lives with her husband, Amos Velez (also a barbershopper), near Orlando, Florida.
